BLUESTEM PACK RELEASED IN ARIZONA
On June 10, a pack of Mexican gray wolves was transferred from Sevilleta National Wildlife Refuge in New Mexico to Arizona. The wolves were placed into a soft pen today about 15 miles southwest of Alpine near Fish Creek in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest. The Bluestem Pack consists of nine wolves, an alpha pair, a two-year old male and female and five pups. Their name results from native bluestem grasses found in their new territory.
