Mexican Wolf Pup Death

Mexican Wolf Pup Death
Following a thorough on-site investigation, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service officials determined that the death of a Mexican gray wolf male pup, #620, was the result of being struck by a car. The incident occurred along Arizona Highway 191 just south of Hannagan Meadow. The death was reported to officials by a passing motorist on Saturday morning, March 25. Investigation of the scene clearly established the cause of death and eliminated the necessity of a necropsy.

The male pup was a member of the Cienega Pack that was moved into the Apache National Forest earlier this month.
