About Wendy Loya

Wendy Loya is the Assistant Regional Director for Science, International Conservation and Migratory Bird Management for the US Fish and Wildlife Service in Alaska.  In that role, she serves as a liaison between FWS programs, partners, and the FWS’s regional leadership team to help address issues of common interest and concern.  Her work passions include collaborative conservation, including co-production of knowledge, and leading strategic science planning.  Prior to joining the FWS, she worked as a scientist at several universities, an Alaskan conservation organization and the Greenland Institute of Natural Resources.
