About Scott Somershoe
In 2015, Scott moved to Colorado to work as the land bird coordinator for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Before joining the USFWS, Scott spent a combined 17 years in the southeast in graduate school, working for the USGS in Mississippi, and then almost 9 years as the ornithologist for the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. His work with USFWS has been focused on addressing research and conservation needs for declining grassland songbirds in the Northern Great Plains and Pinyon Jays across the intermountain west.
