About Jessica Jia

Jessica Jia (she/her) recognizes that the most influential force on our planet is us, human beings. So how can we change culture to build and repair relationships with one another, within ourselves, and in turn with the land? As a formal student of Urban Planning (B.S.) and Biological Sciences (M.S.), a first-generation American-born daughter of resilient Chinese parents, and as a transplant raised in both the West and the Deep South, I believe in looking at the big picture when it comes to conservation. I am both nervous and excited to serve the land and people as the new Lead Park Ranger at Bosque del Apache NWR, a land first loved by many peoples before us on the life-giving Rio Grande in central New Mexico.
