About Dr. Erica Mize (she/her)

I've built my career with a focus on conservation aiming to keep our most common species, common. Over the years, I have described native species habitat ranges, investigated invasive zoonotic disease, and used eDNA as a monitoring and surveillance tool for detecting invasive carp. Central to all of my conservation work is data. I view managing data as a powerful tool for fulfilling conservation. We can do so much more with our conservation projects when we manage our data with the goal of making data findable, accessible, and reusable.
