About David Miko

Dave Miko has 30 years of experience working with federal, state, industry, Tribal, and non-governmental organizations. He joined the Service in 2014 as a headquarters division chief, leading the Service's work on aquatic invasive species invasive species
An invasive species is any plant or animal that has spread or been introduced into a new area where they are, or could, cause harm to the environment, economy, or human, animal, or plant health. Their unwelcome presence can destroy ecosystems and cost millions of dollars.

Dave attended Pennsylvania State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Wildlife and Fisheries Management, as well as Texas Tech University where he earned a Master of Science in Fisheries Management. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing with his wife Devin and their Newfoundland pups, remodeling their home in northern Virginia, and visiting America's incredible public lands.
