Cooperative Agriculture Opportunities at Sand Lake Wetland Management District

Sand Lake Wetland Management District in Columbia, SD, has grazing opportunities on Sand Lake National Wildlife Refuge and 30 Waterfowl Production Areas (WPAs) in seven counties of north-eastern South Dakota. The grazing units range in size from approximately 25 to 1,732 acres and agreements last from one to five years.

Applications are available on the Sand Lake National Wildlife Refuge website. To be considered, submit an application form by Wednesday, March 1, 2023. Applications must be mailed, emailed, faxed or hand-delivered to Sand Lake WMD, 39650 Sand Lake Drive, Columbia, SD 57433. Fax number (605) 885-6401.

Cooperators will be selected through an open and competitive process. Applications will be scored and ranked using objective criteria described in the application form. Applicants will be notified of results by March 7, 2023.
