The tidewater goby is a small, elongate, grey-brown fish that rarely exceeds 2 in. standard length. It is characterized by large pectoral fins. The 2005 recovery plan and 2014 proposed rule provide additional basic species information (Service 2005, pp. 2–6; Service 2014, pp. 14341–14342).
