A cleanup crew collects large piles of marine debris on Midway Atoll National Wildlife Refuge in the Pacific. Each year, thousands of pounds of marine debris wash up on the shores. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the State of Hawaii, and the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration and volunteers team up each year to collect and dispose of tons of marine debris from Midway and other areas throughout Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument.
