Original caption: John C. Harmon, refuge mechanic of the Wichita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge is seen with a portable fire-fighting unit as he fought a grass fire on the military reservation which is beside the refuge. This same man also operates the larger fire truck which couldn't be taken off the road, but which carried water which the smaller fire jeep could refill its tank. Oklahoma, October 28, 1948.
