Denny Holland oral history interview as conducted by Mark Madison. Denny discusses early life growing up on refuges, his father’s career – both outside of and within FWS, including stints at Carolina Sandhills, Kentucky Woodlands, Santee and etc. He also talks about the re-introduction of beaver/deer/turkeys/, watching the Army train for WWII on refuge property, segregation in the 40’s in Somerton. He talks about the start of his FWS career (up to 1962), introduction of uniforms to FWS – first uniform allowance.
