A Native Alaskan woman bangs a drum and leads a procession to St. Paul Island in Alaska

Aquilina Lestenkof leads a procession in Unungan song from her village to East Landing on St. Paul Island, Alaska. During the Aleutian Islands campaign of World War II, 800 native Unangan were removed and interned in squalid camps from 1942 through 1945.
