Please join the staff and refuge Friends group for the opening and dedication of the new Wetland Trail at the Refuge's Visitor Center. This ephemeral wetland, which appears and transforms with the seasons, was created to support the Refuge's education mission, offering visitors the opportunity to learn about the vital role wetlands play in sustaining the Ohio River ecosystem. The construction and signage of the trail were made possible through the Braeden Harpool Memorial Fund. Braeden, a Williamstown native, was deeply committed to conservation and dedicated his life to protecting the natural world. Kick off the day by joining us for the weekly bird walk at 8:30 AM. The Dedication ceremony and refreshments will be at 10:00 AM, and from 8:30 to 11:30 there will be guided tours of the Visitor's Center and the surrounding trails.
