Restoring Ecological Services with Native Plant Gardening

Jen Johnson's program explores how we can restore natural ecosystems into our own yards by incorporating native plants into our landscape. Native plants are the major first step in providing habitat for native insects and insect pollinators which support food for wildlife and us. She will talk some about how we can increase and protect the biodiversity of living native plants and animals that provide vital ecosystem services which we all depend on. Jen is the owner and operator of Native Roots Inc., a native plant nursery located in Mineral Wells, WV. This program will both educate and inspire you. Jen will bring some of her plants for sale.
