Refuge Day Free Event

Celebrate National Wildlife Refuge week at our FREE, annual Refuge Day celebration for the entire family on Saturday, October 15, 2022, from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at the Visitor Center.

Event activities include:

  • Archery
  • Wildlife activity booths
  • Wildlife arts and crafts
  • Face painting 
  • Black-footed ferrets
  • Cheyenne Mountain Zoo Animal Talks with live animals at 11:15 am and 12:15 pm in the auditorium
  • Urban Farm
  • Explore Refuge trails or take the wildlife drive to see bison, deer, hawks, and more!
  • All activities are geared for family fun and a great way to connect with nature! The event is FREE and no reservations are needed. For additional information call the Visitor Center at 303-289-0930.

During the week of October 8 - 15 enjoy a walk in nature at your own pace in celebration of National Wildlife Refuge Week. Choose any of the Refuge’s 20 miles of trails to hike your 5K (3.1 miles) throughout the week or try a suggested route to complete in one day. You can also visit Walk for the Wild to sign up for free to walk for Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge.
