Nature Novice: Snowshoes

New to winter recreation? Learn how to snowshoe during our introductory program where refuge staff will teach participants how to properly wear and utilize snowshoes. Participants will gain experience by practicing walking forward, turning around, and learning how to go up and down hills. Snowshoes will be provided. Registration required.

Meet Us: Meet at the Bloomington Ferry Trailhead kiosk.

What to Bring: Good walking winter boots, water, and appropriate winter gear. Monitor weather forecast and be prepared for the temperature and precipitation. A cancellation notice will be sent via email to registered participants in the event of severe weather.

Accessibility: Restrooms and drinking water will not be available at the trailhead. The trails are not plowed, so be prepared to walk in snow if it is present. There is a parking lot.
