Learn to Identify Plants and Animals with iNaturalist

Ever walk outdoors and wonder what plant or animal you are looking at? Wonder no more! Learn how to use a free citizen science platform called iNaturalist to help you identify what you have seen by taking a photo of your observation and uploading onto the platform. Our refuge volunteer and park ranger will teach how to photograph your observations, how to use the iNaturalist app or web platform, and how your submissions can contribute to wildlife conservation.

We will meet in the parking lot outside of the Tijuana Estuary Visitor Center (301 Caspian Way Imperial Beach, CA 91932) and will walk the trails stopping along the way to photograph any interesting sightings. You can either download the free iNaturalist app beforehand to identify observations on the field or you can also upload directly onto the main website.

There are 20 spots available. Please sign up with Nancy_Fernandez@fws.gov.
