How to Help and Attract Pollinators!

Please join us for this event located at the National Wildlife Visitor Center (10901 Scarlet Tanager Loop, Laurel, MD 20708). This workshop will show to how to help and attract pollinators, anywhere you live even on decks and patios. We will learn how to invite gentle pollinators, including butterflies, to your property. We will cover all the easy things you need to get started! Come pick out your own free native plant,  as well as a visit to a pollinator site at the visitors center.

What you will Learn
  • How important it is to help pollinators

  • How to help even if you don't have a yard! Decks and balconies can be very effective.

  • Shady areas and small sunny spots can help pollinators

  • Why the right plants are so critical and we will explain where to get them.

  • Critical habitat needs of the monarch butterfly, and other pollinators

  • Short visit to the Visitor Center's pollinator garden to see examples of good pollinator habitat
