HawkFest is a two-day celebration for the whole family, focusing on birds of prey (eagles, hawks, falcons, and owls) and the annual fall hawk migration over Lake Erie Metropark. Join us for an awesome weekend of games, crafts, guest speakers, and fun. Live birds of prey will be on hand! You definitely do not want to miss this!
The refuge will have a atable at this event with crafts and interactive games. Other programming changes hourly with both indoor and outdoor offerings. Indoor programming will be mostly seated, with a time for group discussion built in. Outdoor programming will occur mainly on mixed grass surfaces that are mostly suitable for wheelchairs, strollers and walkers.
Make sure to stop by the count site and see the Detroit River Hawk Watch staff in action/migration happening right overhead.
Metroparks vehicle entry pass is required for entry. Day passes and annual passes available. HawkFest and programs are FREE!
