Fall Photography

Join us for an early morning photo hike to capture the fall glow at the refuge. This location provides some fantastic fall scenes.  During the hike, Don will discuss camera settings, and help with subject selection and composition tips. Photographers of all skill levels are welcome.

Registration Information: No registration required.

Activity Level: Easy-active, we will walk slowly and make frequent stops.

Meet Us: Meet at the Bloomington Education and Visitor Center.

What to Bring: Bring a camera with spare batteries, sunscreen, bugspray, and either a macro lens, extension tubes, or a long lens (at least 200 mm). Optional equipment: tripod, polarizer, wired or wireless shutter release.

Accessibility: Restrooms and water fountains are available inside the visitor center. Accessible parking is available at this location. We will walk a short distance on paved and natural surface trails. Some portions of the trail are steep and have uneven tread.

Program Leader: This program is led by Volunteer Naturalist Don Tredinnick of Frozen Hiker Photography. Don leads six free photography programs a year at the refuge.
