Are you part of the Dedicated Hunter Program? Need volunteer service hours? This event is the place for you!
On Friday, June 5 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Refuge staff will be hosting a 4-hour Dedicated Hunter Volunteer Service Day focused on Refuge clean-up activities. This Refuge Clean-up Day will involve picking up and removing trash from designated areas around the Refuge. At the beginning of the day, all volunteers will gather at the Refuge’s Visitor Center for a briefing and will be assigned to one of three designated clean-up areas. A staff member will be assigned to each of the three groups.
During the service day, volunteers will be assisting the Refuge with the clean-up of areas that are heavily utilized for different forms of public recreation including hunting, fishing, and wildlife viewing. Volunteers are recommended to bring water as there is not a lot of shade out on the Refuge. If you would prefer to bring your own gloves for picking up trash, you are more than welcome to; however, the Refuge will provide all needed onsite materials for the Clean-up Day.
