Come join us for a quiet paddle among the wildlife at the heart of the Tennessee National Wildlife Refuge. We will specifically be boating up Gaynor Slough that is located in the Duck River Bottoms area of the refuge. We have a limited number of canoes and kayaks available for free to use, but you must RSVP early to claim your vessel. You may also come and bring your own equipment. We do have life vests for all participants that need one as they will be required for the event. Please wear shoes that can get wet, sunscreen and a hat.
This paddle site is in the depths of the refuge, at the upper end of Lawrence Creek Road. However, we will be meeting you at the entrance gate to this area and leading you to the site.
This event is free, but you must RSVP by calling 731-642-2091. Tell us how many want to come, your name and phone number, if you are bringing any children and their ages, as well as if you want to borrow our equipment or bring your own. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
