You asked and we heard. We are happy to announce the first beginner's photography workshop of the year at Tijuana Slough NWR on Saturday, January 28 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. The lessons will be led by local photographer and naturalist Hector Valtierra and will be limited to the first 10 people to sign up with Nancy Fernandez via email Nancy_Fernandez@fws.gov or send a message on here.
We will meet outside the Tijuana Estuary visitor center parking lot and take a walk on the Tijuana Slough National Wildlife Refuge trails to learn how to best use your camera’s settings to capture great shots. During this time of year, you can expect to see many local and migrating bird species including ducks, geese, and terns.
Be prepared to walk about 1.6 miles round trip on flat ground starting at the visitor center and then towards North McCoy trail (along the eastern perimeter of the refuge). Feel free to bring monopods or tripods.
Please reach out to Nancy as well if you have any questions.
