46th Annual Eagle Days

MOUND CITY, MISSOURI – The 46th annual Eagle Days at Loess Bluffs National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) will be Saturday, December 6, 2025 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm and Sunday, December 7, 2025 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. See wildlife like bald eagles, trumpeter swans, snow geese, and ducks!


The event is free and open to the public, hosted by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service at Loess Bluffs NWR with the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC), World Bird Sanctuary, Remington Nature Center, and volunteer partners such as Friends of Loess Bluffs NWR, Loess Hills and Osage Trails Missouri Master Naturalists, Missouri Western State University’s Student Chapter of The Wildlife Society, Northwest Missouri State University’s Student Chapter of The Wildlife Society, Midland Empire and Burroughs Audubon Society, Fairytale Face Paint, Boy Scouts and the Missouri Department of Transportation.


Activities throughout the day include live captive eagle programs provided by World Bird Sanctuary; drive around the refuge auto tour route independently and stop at wildlife viewing stations staffed by volunteers to view eagles up close with our spotting scopes. There will be special eagle exhibits on display and volunteers to help with crafts for kids. Fairytale Face Paint will be here for magical face painting creations on Saturday. The Midland Empire Audubon Society will be selling wild bird seed and feeders and the Nature Shop will be open in the visitor center. Maryville Boy Scouts will have food and drink for sale on Saturday and Sunday or visit the local community for more food options.

Eagle Show: Live captive eagle programs will be held hourly starting Saturday, December 6th at 9:00 am with the last show starting at 3:00 pm and Sunday, December 7th starting at 11:00 am with the last show starting at 2:00 pm.
