Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery was proud to host its' 16th Annual Catch A Smile Senior Fishing Derby, a cherished community event celebrating anglers aged 62 and above. With clear skies and cool waters, over 120 participants gathered at Hatchery Creek for a memorable day of fishing, fellowship, and fun—all free of charge!
The event kicked off in the morning with rods and reels cast into the well-stocked Hatchery Creek, teeming with rainbow trout. It didn’t take long for the excitement to build, as line after line tugged with the thrill of a catch. Smiles, laughter, and shared stories filled the air as participants of all skill levels enjoyed a relaxing morning on the water.
After a great morning of fishing, attendees were treated to a hearty lunch of hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, pasta salad, desserts, and refreshing drinks. It was a perfect opportunity to relax, reconnect with friends, and swap fish tales over a good meal.
As the day wrapped up, every participant received a nature-inspired gift to take home as a memento of the day.
