2024 Alaska Stream Crossing Virtual Workshop: Increasing Ecological Function and Resiliency

The 2024 Alaska Stream Crossing Virtual Workshop will help stakeholders and practitioners work together to create stream crossings that increase ecological function and resiliency in a changing climate. Some key content will be a review of the 2022 Alaska Stream Crossing Workshop, and this year we will explore new topics and provide more opportunity for active participation. Certificates of completion will be available for professional development hours (PDHs).

Our key note speaker is environmental journalist, Ben Goldfarb. He is the author of Crossings: How Road Ecology is Shaping the Future of Our Planet, named one of the best books of 2023 by the New York Times and the New Yorker. Stay tuned for local and virtual book club opportunities to discuss withi other workshop participants prior to the workshop!

Workshop dates are Monday - Thursday, March 18-21, 2024 10:00 am-3:00 pm daily.

Attendees are also welcome to join in for two book club events to discuss Ben Goldfarb's book, Crossings. The first will be for those folks in Anchorage, an in person potluck at the BP Energy Center, Thursday, March 7 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.; and a second virtual book club opportunity on Friday, March 15, 2024 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. via Zoom.
