New pedestrian bridge at Dale Hollow hatchery creek
This bridge crosses hatchery creek allowing fishing and hiking access between the hatchery, campgrounds, and hiking trails

The long wait for a replacement pedestrian bridge is finally complete.

The old pedestrian bridge was in place for decades and was almost completely disintegrated, held together by some large galvanized nuts and bolts with plywood from a few years ago, the underbelly was almost completely gone, it was months if not weeks away from full failure and permanent closure for visitor safety. The old bridge was aesthetically a piece of art and we are pleased the replacement bridge looks like it will not detract from the picturesque hatchery creek area.  Mounting for the bridge required some quick precision work from the contractor to install strong mounting plates and shave down the side support beams to prevent a lip that created a trip hazard. We saved money by not asking for disposal of the old bridge and moved it to the nearby tree line where it can continue to add to the aesthetics of the area until it is ready for full retirement.
