Not the Missing Lynx

Solitary, not usually keen on being seen, bobcats (Felis rufus) can grow up to 40 lbs. and 49" in length. Their diet consists of rabbits, mice, birds, raccoons, opossums, even snakes and deer. The Bobcat derives its name from its short, app. 5" tail. A bobcat looks similar to a Lynx and is in the same genus. But there are physical differences between these two cats and for the most part they are located in different habitats.
