About Wende Mahaney

Wende is a fish and wildlife biologist who has been with the Maine Field Office for over 30 years. Currently, her work focuses on protection of listed species under the Federal Endangered Species Act, particularly Atlantic salmon and northern long-eared bat. She works with a variety of Federal agencies to promote conservation of these species in association with many activities including transportation, renewable energy, agriculture, and aquaculture. Wende also works with partners to promote conservation of at-risk turtle species including spotted, wood, and Blanding’s turtles.
