About Roger Root

Prior to becoming the Deputy Director at Abernathy FTC in 2017, Roger worked for 14 years in various biologist and management positions at the Ventura Fish and Wildlife Office. Before joining US Fish and Wildlife Service, Roger worked for the California Army National Guard documenting and managing fish, wildlife, and plants at several National Guard installations. Some of Roger's field experience includes conducting surveys for California red-legged frogs and steelhead and radio-collaring San Joaquin kit foxes and tracking them for studies using radio telemetry equipment.
