About Matthew J. Butler Ph.D.
Matthew J. Butler holds a Ph.D. in Wildlife Science from Texas Tech University, a M.S. in Forest Resources from University of Arkansas at Monticello, and a B.S. in Fisheries and Wildlife Management from Arkansas Tech University. Early in his career, Matthew worked various roles at the U.S. Forest Service. After earning his Ph.D., he served as a Research Professor at Texas Tech University until starting in his current position in 2010 as a Supervisory Biometrician at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Matthew has supervised or served on the committees of 10 graduate students. He has coauthored over 60 peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts. Matthew married his beautiful bride Becca in 2017. Matt and Becca have 2 dogs and several chickens, they love volunteering in their church, and enjoy camping and exploring the outdoors together.
