Photography is encouraged on the refuge throughout the year. Animals are most active during the early mornings and late evenings. During the winter months, thousands of waterfowl can be seen on Wapanocca Lake. Each season of the year provides opportunities to observe and photograph unique aspects of the bottomland hardwood forest and the wildlife that call it home.
