Wocus Bay Canoe Area

Klamath Marsh offers canoeing and Kayaking during the summer months from July 1st through September 30th. With the lower water levels the canoe trail may not be passable. Please contact refuge headquarters for current water conditions.

The canoe area at Klamath Marsh National Wildlife Refuge consists of approximately 700 acres of open water with tule and cattail marsh. There are no facilities or equipment rentals at the canoe area. You must provide your own canoe or Kayak. Wildlife viewing opportunities along the trail are excellent, especially during the morning and evening hours. Quiet paddling with minimal conversation often allows close approach of the many wildlife species. Binoculars and field guides are recommended.

When there is sufficient water, the canoe trail is open during daylight hours from July 1st through September 30th, but may be closed to reduce disturbance to wildlife or due to fluctuating water levels. Please contact Refuge Headquarters for current information.
