San Bernardino National Wildlife Refuge is soliciting public comment on the Compatibility Determination for Expanded Public Motorized Access. As detailed inside the Compatibility Determination, this use would allow for public motorized access on a portion of the main refuge entrance road. Learn more about riparian areas and ponds. These are the locations that typically draw visitors to the refuge for activities such as wildlife observation and photography. The use will allow these areas to be more accessible to persons with a wider array of physical ability.
The public comment period for this compatibility determination is open from May 3, 2024 to May 17, 2024. Comments can be submitted via email to r2_plancomments@fws.gov. All concerns expressed during the public comment period will be addressed in the final compatibility determination.
