The final Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) to analyze the proposed removal of Ballville Dam, including alternatives and associated impacts, as required under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), is now available for public review. The SEIS supplements the previous final EIS completed for this project, published on August 1, 2014. New information in the supplement addresses additional sediment data and analysis to help further assess alternatives and associated impacts. The proposed project will restore natural hydrological processes across a 40 mile stretch of the Sandusky River and improve overall conditions for native fish communities.
Written comments on the final SEIS must be received or postmarked by 11:59 p.m. Central Time, November 28, 2016.
