Steve Thompson oral history as conducted by George Mendel Stewart. Mr. Thompson began his career as a wildlife biologist at Malheur National Wildlfie Refuge and eventually would become Regional Director for Region 8. He worked on important projects such as the Refuge Improvement Act of 1997, and helped to aquire the land to establish the San Francisco Bay National Wildlfie Refuge. In 1994 he was chosen by the Refuge Association to recieve the first Manager of the Year Award.
