Though not native to North America (introduced from Asia), the Ring-necked Pheasant has become an important gamebird and a symbol of conservation in its own right. Grassland habitats provide benefits for ducks, pheasants, grouse, and deer, and conservation or restoration of these areas helps a wide array of species.
