Paul Schmidt oral history transcript as conducted by Norman Olson. Mr. Schmidt gives his personal background and discusses his career. He talks about the personnel upheaval in Alaska around 1986, the Tiglax research vessel, public meetings, native views, reintroduction of caribou in Togiak, and reindeer removal on Hagemeister Island. He also talks about the Exxon Valdez spill, and other tragedies, such as deaths, that occurred in Alaska.
