Abernathy lab geneticist Jennifer Von Bargen wrote the study plan for the genetics portion of the rapid response work in Washington and coordinated with the State of Washington to use their genetic reference baseline data. Jennifer drives to locations hours from the lab to pick up genetic samples, processes the samples at the lab, then runs the statistical analyses to determine the origin of each fish.
