Grasshopper sparrow

Red Hills, Kansas, Grasshopper sparrow, a priority focal species, on breeding grounds that is signing to attract mate and establish a breeding territory on a private cattle ranch that has PFW private landowner agreements for grassland enhancement projects. The ranch also has a healthy Lesser prairie-chicken population, an umbrella or surrogate species for numerous grassland wildlife due to requiring large continguous blocks of native grassland composed of varying successional stages.
