Endangered species listing program

This article in the Endangered Species Bulletin November/December, Vol. XXIV no. 6. explains how a species becomes listed under the Endangered Species Act. The Endangered Species Act of 1973 gives the Secretary of the Interior responsibility for making a very important decision: determining whether to place an animal or plant on the Federal list of endangered and threatened species.
