Draft Environmental Assessment for Cyanobacteria Treatment in Lake Mattamuskeet

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is proposing to conduct a trial treatment of cyanobacteria, also known as blue-green algae, using a sodium percarbonate-based algaecide, Lake Guard® Oxy, in Lake Mattamuskeet at Mattamuskeet National Wildlife Refuge. with the proposed action and complies with the National Environmental Policy Act in accordance with Council on Environmental Quality regulations (40 CFR 1500-1509) and Department of the Interior (43 CFR 46; 516 DM 8) and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (550 FW 3) regulations and policies.
