Earth Day Tree Planting

The Refuge is working to restore the islands to their natural, forest state, and we need your help! This Earth Day, we will host a tree-planting on Buckley Island, near Marietta and Williamstown. Jumpstarting the native forest will help prevent weeds from gaining a foothold and will create useful habitat for wildlife. Participating in this effort includes a free boat ride to the island, as well as an opportunity to see up close what our islands are all about. Planting-tools, snacks and refreshments will be provided. All you have to bring is yourself and a sense of determination to make a difference!

Simply show up at the Williamstown Boatramp between 1pm and 2pm. A thick-soled and mud-resistant shoe is a good idea. We'll take care of the rest!
