The Science & Spanish Club Network, Inc. invites the bird loving public to the 16th Early Bird New Year at Aransas National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) on Wednesday, December 31, 2025.
This free event celebrates the annual migration of the endangered Whooping Crane from Wood Buffalo National Park, WBNP, in Canada to the South Texas Gulf Coast. It is also a celebration of ANWR's 88th Birthday!
The public is encouraged to wear festive red, white, and black colored clothing to honor the Whooping Crane feathers. At the countdown to 12 Noon, attendees will dance to "The Whoop Song" and then sing Happy Birthday to the northern and southern critical habitat sites, ANWR and WBNP. A birthday cake sponsored by Wal-Mart will be served, thereafter. International Crane foundation will also be showcasing their whooper wagon and ANWR will provide the whooping crane state of address.
No need to RSVP, just show up to the Visitor Center and let the front desk volunteers know that you are here for the celebration!
