Soft bird’s-beak is an annual herb ranging from 4 to 16 inches tall with stems and leaves that are gray-green, often purple-tinged and covered with very fine hairs. Its tubular flowers are pale cream to yellowish at the tip, and crowded together in spikes that support three to 30 flowers.
