Cooperative Agriculture Opportunities at Madison Wetland Management District

Madison Wetland Management District (WMD) in Madison, South Dakota, has cooperative agriculture opportunities for grazing on 40 waterfowl production areas and farming on 4 waterfowl production areas. Grazing units range in size from 5 to 300 acres and farming units range in size from 30 to 183 acres. 

Application packets are available at the WMD office at 23520 SD Hwy 19, Madison, SD 57042. You may also request that a packet be mailed to you by contacting Marcie Hebert by office phone at 605-256-2974 or cellphone 605-270-9491, or by email at marcella_hebert@fws.gov. Applications must be received by 4:30 pm on April 11, 2023. Applications may be submitted by mail or in person to the WMD Office at P.O. Box 48, 23520 SD Hwy 19, Madison, SD 57042 or by email to marcella_hebert@fws.gov.  

Successful applicants will be selected through an open and competitive process.  Applications will be scored and ranked using objective criteria described in the application paperwork. If two or more applicants receive equal rankings, a lottery drawing will decide the winner. That drawing would take place April 14, 2023 at 11 am. All applicants will be notified by April 17.
