Volunteer Position Overview
About This Position
Become part of the Visitor Services Crew where you can enjoy a sense of accomplishment from doing your part to further wildlife conservation for the enjoyment of generations to follow. Volunteers will meet regularly (probably weekly) during spring and fall (and maybe cooler summer days) to take on various projects along trails and refuge access points. Possible projects would include:
- minor trail repairs
- installing new refuge signs
- adding new mile marker posts
- maintaining stickers on mile marker posts
- manually removing noxious weeds
- picking up litter
No specific skills needed, but would strongly prefer people who consider themselves handy, have carpentry skills, and have experience working with power tools.
- Works well on a team.
