Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery was proud to host the 17th Annual Catch A Smile Senior Fishing Derby for over 150 participants aged 62 and above! Once participants were registered, they were invited to begin fishing at 9 a.m., allowing ample time to catch their limit before being treated to a free lunch including burgers, hot dogs, chips, pasta salad, drinks, and cookies for dessert! Following lunch, outdoor related door prizes were provided to each angler including lawn chairs, herb grow kits, birdhouses, lanterns, and more.
This event wouldn't be possible without the incredible support of the Friends of Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery, who partner with us each year to secure funding and resources. Through generous donations from local businesses, companies, and individual donors, the Friends group ensures this beloved tradition continues to grow
We extend our deepest thanks to our dedicated Friends group members and tireless volunteers, whose hard work and enthusiasm make this event run smoothly year after year.
A special thank you to all our friends, volunteers, Tyson Foods, Friends of Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery, Inc. members, and our generous partners and sponsors. Your support helps make this event so meaningful.
