Chattahoochee Forest National Fish Hatchery hosted their annual Military Fishing Day on May 8th, 2026. This event serves as a thank you to our veterans and active-duty military, who selflessly serve our country. Staff stocked 1,800 trout into nearby Rock Creek for participants to catch.
Thirty-nine anglers participated in the event, enjoying a morning filled with food, fun, and plenty of fishing. The Friends of Chattahoochee Forest National Fish Hatchery provided lunch for the participants. They also hosted a raffle with great prizes for the participants! The fishing derby was a great success. Anglers were able to catch several fish and had a great time. Congressman Andrew Clyde also made an appearance and even helped feed the fish at the hatchery.
The event was a success, and the staff at Chattahoochee Forest National Fish Hatchery are looking forward to conducting more successful fishing derbies in the future!
